Frequently Asked Questions

Does Cure Oils sell wholesale or in bulk?

Please contact us at for additional information on bulk orders.   In addition, we do offer wholesale pricing for retailers interested our products.   You will need to contact us for access to our wholesale website.

Are your oils all natural?

Yes, our essential oils are pure essential oils.  We can make GC/MS Reports available for all essential oils ordered.   Contact us at to request reports.

Do not alter or dilute our essential oils, except for our roll-on blends.   We only dilute our essential oil blends in our 10 ml roll-ons with pure Fractionated Coconut Oil, so they are safe for immediate application.

Indicators like "therapeutic grade", "CPTG - Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade" or "S.A.A.F.E" are terms not regulated or awarded by any regulating or governing agency.   Instead these terms are words that have been applied for trademark with the USPTO by companies selling essential oils.

Where do I apply my essential oils?

There is no correct answer.   The key is to get the essential oils into the blood stream and into the olfactory system.  The molecules of EOs are very small and will enter the blood stream easily through the pores of the skin.   It is usually a good idea after applying oils topically to hold hands in front of your nose to inhale the aroma for several seconds.

The rates of absorbtion for the body are fastest on the head and slower in the lower extremities.  There is an additional layer of skin on the palms of the hands and the bottoms of the feet and absorption is slower in these locations.  This can function as time release.

Head, temples and neck are ideal locations for applying essential oils.  Applying pain, digestive or respiratory blends to specific locations of discomfort (i.e. joints and muscles, stomach, lungs or chest, etc) are effective.

IMPORTANT:  It is rarely necessary to ingest any essential oils.   It is not considered safe and should never been done long term.  Remember 100% natural does not mean 100% safe.

How should I dilute my oils?

Guidelines for dilution in 1 oz. of carrier oil or lotion are as follows:

5-6 drops EO - 1% dilution recommended for pregnant women, children and compromised immune systems.

10-12 drops EO - 2% dilution recommended for daily use and massage.

15-18 drops EO - 3% dilution recommended for muscle or joint injury, chest congestion or acute conditions.

A 10-25% dilution or "neat" application should be reserved for acute, severe and short term use.

We sell only 2 carrier oils.   We sell FCO (a liquid fractionated coconut oil) and pure Jojoba oil because they have healing properties in their own right and have an indefinite shelf life.

What is a carrier oil?

A carrier oil is not an essential oil.   It is a vegetable oil or wax that helps to dilute essential oils for safety and ease of application.   See Guidelines for dilution in a previous question.

Which oils are safe for pregnancy women?

See Pregnancy safety chart on the front page of the website and on the Oils Guide tab.

Which oils are safe for babies and children?

In Aromatherapy it is not considered safe to use essential oils for children under 5 years of age.   Oils with mild chemical components like Lavender have been used on children with little reaction reported.
